How is everything going with the EIE? Are you enjoying the classes and finding the tutoring useful? However, how about your lunch? Everyone knows lunch is important because it offers energy for 6-hours of activities. What do you usually eat in the limited lunch time during the EIE program? Convenient foods bought from GS25? From now, you need not eat that kind of food anymore. By using a survey we collected some information about restaurants which provide fast service and are convenient places to eat when you are short of time.

◎ Bongousso Babburger----------------------//

When you only have 30 minutes for lunch, there are not many choices. However, there is a small store named Bongousso Babburger near our campus, which is only 7 minutes walk and which sells quick but delicious food. From the ECC, go to the front gate and walk up to Olive Young. There, turn right and go straight for about 1 minute. Then, you will arrive at the cute store.

There are 3 slender tables beside the walls and a French-window and some seats in the restaurant. Also, there are some special decorations and boards on the walls which you can write or draw on. Compared with other restaurants, orders are completed faster there. In our case, we got our lunch in 1 minute.

After hearing the introduction of the clerk, we learned that the Babburger is similar to a hamburger, but instead of bread, rice is used. Also, there are 26 different foods that can go into the burger, so everyone may find their desired taste.

We chose the most famous 3 menus. The first is the original one, called Bongousso Babburger, which is a balance of tuna, mayonnaise, kimchi, and pickled radish. The second is the DakGalbi [Spicy Stir-fried Chicken] Babburger. This is stuffed with spicy stir-fried chicken and suits people who like spicy food. The third is Cheese-TteokGalbi [Cheese-Grilled Short Rib Patties] Babburger. This tastes a little sweet.

 

The prices are suitable for students and all prices are between 1500 won and 3500 won. The original one is 1500 won, the DakGalbi Babburger is 2500 won and the Cheese-TteokGalbi Babburger is 2500 won. 

◎ Alchon ------------------------------------- //

 Alchon located near the front gate of Ewha University, near the other popular restaurant which is named BabBurger.

The most important reason why so many students like Alchon is the cheap price, but expensive taste. All choices here are 3,500 won, and you can add some cheese if you want for an additional 1000 won. Alchon offers 4 special set menus in summer. A popular set menu consists of chips, fish balls and chicken pieces all for 2000 won. The soup and kimchee here is free.

Alchon is famous for AlBab, which is a mixture of vegetables, red caviar, egg and rice served in a black stone bowl. If you like spicy food, alchon will give you more choices to suit your taste. They have 4 different level of spiciness--- not spicy, a little spicy, middle range spicy and hot. The most popular one is the little spicy level.

Alchon has a clear, bright and commodious dining environment. There is seating available for more than 40 people. The Alchon focuses on younger customers, so it has popular music playing in the background. You can enjoy some pop music while having dinner.

◎ Noodle Kimbab --------------//

Noodle Kimbab is a very popular restaurant for Ewha students, because of its various menus, low price, and near proximity to Ewha.



Noodle Kimbab is located 500m from the Ewha front gate. If you want to go there, go straight two blocks from the Ewha front gate towards the subway station and turn left. Then on right side you can find Noodle Kimbab restaurant.

There are two categories of menu in Noodle and kimbab. The prices range from 1,500 to 7,000won.

The most famous menu items are the lettuce riceballs, with 3 varieties: Lettuce Tuna Riceball, Lettuce Beef Riceball, and Lettuce Flying Fish Roe Riceball.

The price of the original riceball is 1,500 won (very cheap), and lettuce riceballs are all 4,500won. They are all delicious.

Another item on the menu is Flat Dumpling or Najak Mandu in Korean. This dumpling is only 2,000 won and consists if five pieces per dish. In comparison to other dumplings it has a clean taste.

The Tuckbokki is very spicy but if you eat it with riceballs or dumplings, it is delicious. Its price is 3,000 won.
